MERLIN Messaging - Extension not notified of voicemail.

Ok, just a bit of warning, I was dropped into this position, and I'm still reading manuals and trying to get things working the way the users need it to.

There was an extension that did not have voicemail previously. I was able to modify it on the system programming console to activate the VM and get the phone to transfer to it. The problem comes in that the MW light does not come on the display on the user's phone to let them know they have voicemail.

I am still working to get winSPM to connect to the system to get more accurate programming and reports, but I believe it is at least a version 2.5 of the messaging system.

Any ideas on why the VM doesn't display correctly? Thanks in advance.

It could be a bad message waiting light on the phone. I always start with the basics. Try swapping it with a phone you know is working and see if that works. If not, post back and we can dig into the progarmming a bit.

If the phone has a display, is there a banner on the top that lists the number of new & old messages

Is the phone status of the mailbox set to "Has a Phone"?
