Does anyone have a list of errors dealing with a merlin messaging module? I am replacing a bad module with a different one that is a lower release. I would like to back up the program and restore to the new module. This is when the error 01 comes up and the restore can't take place. I figured the backup and license cards didn't care what release the module was. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The releases are not backwards compatible - as far as I know - nor is there any way to "translate" them from one release to another - especially in the reverse direction. What release was the original module? What release did you go back to?

That was my first thought as well, the current rls is 2.5 and the replacement is 1. The problem that I find now is that when I do the back up I never hear the confirmation of back up complete. I tried restoring the program to the original module and the same error comes up. I then though that the write protect tab must be set on and that it never really backed up anything. Well, there is no write protect tab on this pcmcia card. I have decided to change all hardware and pcmcia and reprogram in the morning. I would still like to know if anyone has this problem before or heard of anything like this. Thanks

If you have the LAN admin software for the R2.5 messaging module - you could back-up everything, including announcements, and voice mail box content to a PC hard drive. Assuming that data is not "corrupted" in some way - you would be able to "restore" it to an identical vintage module - using the LAN connection. The PCMCIA card doesn't do much of a back-up anyway - just configuration info - no announcements, etc.

At this point it will be easier to re-program the voicemail. It is not that large or complicated of a set up. Was just trying to same some time, but in the end wasted more time. Thanks for your input.
