I believe the answer is no, but no harm in asking right?

Is there any other way to dial by name other than pressing *2 and using a direct prompt option?

Using Merlin Messaging R1.1.9

The *2 is the only way - unless you want to create a submenu that lists out an extention list by name.

Yeah, that's a pain, have to re-record everytime there is a change in personnel.

As long as I know that I shouldn't be digging too hard to find another way.

I find that when the "REGULAR" way things work are not acceptable to the Client, someone has failed to set the clients expectations as to what the system really can do.

Is this what you are dealing with?

If so, you will have to "UN-SELL" the incorrect expectations.

Actually, trying to avoid setting false expectations before the final sale and installation. I have a system that I am offering to a client, but haven't extensively worked with it before, I work with S87xx, Audix, Modular Mess. I've only worked on very basic items with Merlin.

So I'm learning along with the client all the functionality of the Merlin Legend and Messaging system. Finding that it's got a lot of good features, more than both the client and I thought it would. Lots of reading ahead of me.
