Ok, now I am sure this does nothing for my credibility, but I have been working on these systems for years and yes I just got my first Merlin Messaging Card this week, and I was so hopeing the default proceedure would be the same as the 007mlm, well I have frustrated myself to no end finding out that it isn't can anyone HELP!!! I hate to have to give up on it...
Thanks

Dial into the voicemail administrator's mailbox (0#), press 9 for voicemail admin, dial 989-clear. The system will default to factory specs.

This would be great if I had the password for the administrator mailbox, but I bought it off ebay... need I say more...

Ahh - too bad! Discussing passwords is not allowed on this site. If you have been programming these systems for a while - you should know a friendly Avaya dealer or two - who could help you out. Otherwise - you will need to call Avaya.

If you hunt thru old posts and the archives you will probably find the password recovery procedure. It should be in one of them. It has been discussed before.

I have never heard anything about any NO password policy! That is a free speech issue anyway! When you need to fix something you need to fix it period!

Hope this helps!

I remember the way to default the Legend mail was to login as 9997# and then the last 6 digits of the s/n

That would work for a MERLIN MESSAGING, but this post was about a MERLIN MESSAGING, Right?

OOPS ! ! ! - TIME FOR A RE-DO

That would work for a MERLIN MAIL, but this post was about a MERLIN MESSAGING, Right?

I believe the main reason we have - as a forum - normally NOT shared the "backdoor" passwords is to keep those who would use them in criminal ways from gettings them. Phone fraud is still alive and weel. A Definity PBX client of mine just got hit with over $800 of LD calls to a group of overseas numbers last weekend that were routed through their switch that was not secured properly.

I understand free speech ... but wisdom is also important.

I can not thank you all enough for all your help, I have been able to init the unit with the help of a member, and appreciate all the offers received. Thanks again to everyone!
