Customer has Merlin Legend R7. He replaced the Intuity Audix with Merlin Messaging R4. He also has Unified Messaging set up and it's working fine for him to listen to voice mail messages in Outlook on his PC. He has Microsoft Exchange server 2003. ALTHOUGH, after he listens to the message and deletes it in Outlook, the message light on his phone doesn't go out.

If he is using Merlin Messaging R4, he needs to have a Merlin Magix R4.0 processor in order for it to work properly. It's not gonna work properly with Legend R7 software.

But, the Legend is not networked with the Exchange Server, the Messaging is. How does the Legend affect it?

Merlin Messaging works just fine on Legend R7 - that is the 1st release with "Rotary Enable" for the VM ports.

Sorry, can't address the Unified Messaging, perhaps Tom D. has some insight?

Hi TTT - thanks for the vote of confidence. My understanding is the same as yours - that the processor needs to be running Magix R4, V7 software for unified messaging to work correctly. The messaging module itself will work just fine with Legend R7 - but unified messaging will not (i.e., the part where messages erased in email are also erased on the phone). As to the specifics of why it will not work with earlier processor releases - I don't know.
