We installed a Merlin Messaging R4 on a Magix R3 last night. Used Auto-config, so the voicemail is 7929, not 770. I spent quite a bit of time on tek-tips looking for info on how to program. The voicemail group is set to Linear and Integrated VMI. The ports are rotary enabled. The mailboxes and auto attendants are set up and recorded.

They want the AA to answer all calls immediately. Their first call comes in on an analog line, and the AA picks up as it should. However when the calls roll to the PRI, the AA does not pick up.

In Group calling-->line/pool, lines 802 (analog) and 890 (PRI pool) and 70 (?) are entered.

The tech onsite said the DIDs are coming in as unidentified: Cover DID?? and the caller ID shows a number ending in 262. Should I add 262 somewhere?

I'm hopelessly confused by now and in over my head, obviously. I know how to program the messaging, but not the Magix. Please help!

Calls coming in on the PRI are number based, not line based. If you are indeed receiving the digits 262 from the phone company, you would create an Ext. 262, cover it to voicemail, and in the Merlin Messaging create a "mailbox" that actually points it to the automated attendant.

Use an adjunct and renumber it to 262

When you go to make mailbox 262, option 1 is to create a regular mailbox. option 2 is to give it transfer-only capability, and option 2 is to assign it to an automated attendant, then specify which AA, probably number 1

Thanks TTT. I had already created extension 100's mailbox as AA1. Can I add 262 and have them both assigned as AA1? Or was that wrong too? :)
