I have a system using merlin messaging 4.0 and I want to record wav file to use as the auto attendent but I can't find the exact specs needed to prepare the recording. I want this to be as clean of a recording as I can get. I make a wav and convert it but it doesn't sound good.

I have done this with a REAL 2500 Telephone where I connected the OUTPUT from the wave device into the TRANSMIT connection on the HAND SET Leads.

I then used the 2500 Set to connect to a T&R Port of the system to do the play back.

It requires some custom wiring and an Audio jack that fits your wave device.

However, the playback, when I did it, wasn't quite as "clean" as I wanted. But this was just a temporary thing that I spent almost no time on, and for sure ZERO effort in refinement.

Thanks for the hard wire directions but I need a software option. I have the option to upload the files but what do I need the WAV files to be set to? I want to avoid this error message "GSM 6.10 8khz or any PCM" what does this mean?

Using the GUI, you can download the current AA greeting, and then analyze its format. I just looked at one I saved from a customer site, and Audacity shows it as Mono, 8000HZ, 16-bit. Don't know if that gives you enough to go on.
