Merlin Messaging 4.0 restore

We have a customer that is upgrading from Merlin Magix R1 with Merlin Messaging R1.1 to Magix 4.0 and Messaging 4.0, backup ,convert and restore for the Magix but what about the Messaging? I have done a backup on the Messaging R1.1 4 port card, can we just install the old card and do a restore?
