I have been reading through the various posts in regards to this subject but I still can't seem to make it work.

The voice mail is setup to utilize group 770 and pool 70 is assigned to this group. Each of my voice mail ports are also assigned to this group. It works great other than I don't want the AA to answer after two rings. I tried setting up a 777 group with and re-assigning the pool to this group and then overflowing it to 770 but now after two rings it says "transfering to the operator". How can I simply change the rings to lets say four rings?

Thanks all!

You are on the right track.

You will have to make an AUTO ATTENDANT Mail Box for 777, and set the OVERFLOW DELAY to:

Number 99
Time 25 (that's in seconds, you will probably have to play with this)
Prompt = NO

That should do it for you.

You mean go into messaging and creating a "user type" mailbox #777 or go into messaging - auto attendant and assign AA #1 for example to 777?

Just some more info...

I now have the 770 voice mail group with the voice mail ports assigned to it. I have no lines/pools assigned to 770 either.

I have 777 setup with the overflow you suggested to group 770 and when into Messenging and assigned AA#1 to group 777. However, when I call the number, after two rings it says "transfering to operator".

You need to complete the programming Merlinman indicated. You need to remove the Line assignment under extentions, group calling, line/pool from 770 - and reassign them to 777. You also have to create an "autoattendant" mailbox for 777 in voicemail programmming. For a Merlin Magix - dial into the Admin mailbox (0) - press 9, press 2, keyin 777# and then press 3, then press 1, then press 6, then exit out. ALSO - please make sure that the ports for the Merlin Messaging are "rotary enabled" - otherwise the messaging module will not be able to transfer calls properly.

That did the trick. I was missing the mailbox setup portion.

Thanks!
