I have a magix switch R2.1 V8.0 with merlin messaging R1.1 and the switch is set for the key mode , my problem is that I want the lines to ring at least 4 times then go to the auto-attendant, I know how to set the delay up in the pbx mode and that works fine but I am having trouble understanding how the manual says to do this, It says to set-up a coverage button but how? any suggestions
thanks John--selectacare L.T.D.

John,

Here's a little trick.

Assuming you have a 4 port messaging, that means you have a few "PHANTOM" T&R Extensions you can play with.

1) Determine what the 5th (Any not being used, but not the 12th) Messaging Extension would be (again, assuming a 4 port messaging)

2) Assign the Lines to it

3) Make that extension the PRINCIPLE USER and Assign your Auto Attendent to it.

Now you can massage cover delay to get it to answer when you want it to.

You can also use the "adjunct" extensions associated with any MLX or TDL extension.

The problem with those is they act as BUSY to the system and they send cover to VM NOW ! ! - No Delay -

By using the "PHANTOM" T&R Port you can play with the Cover Delay a bit more.
