MERLIN MAIL DIALTONE IN MAILBOXES!!!

I HAVE A MERLIN MAIL 4 PORT RELEASE 4.OO. I GET A LOT OF MESSAGES IN MAILBOXES WITH JUST A RECORDING OF DIALTONE. THIS HAPPENS IN NEARLY ALL MAILBOXES ON 2 DIFFERENT SYSTEMS IN 2 SITES RUNNING LEGEND 7.0.
I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A BROADCAST MESSAGE BUT I DO NOT THINK SO.
ITS STARTS OFF AT THE BEGINNING OF THE RECORDING AS IF IT IS TRYING TO ACCES A CO LINE AND THEN RECIVES DIALTONE AND RECORDS TO MAILBOX.RESPONSES GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Two things you gotta check. One, make sure you are getting the right disconnect signaling. If you are using Loop Start trunks, make sure the LS Disconnect is set to yes. If not, the system does not always get the signal to hang up, thus, it times out to record a message because it has not heard anything else on the line. Two, if your disconnect is not the problem, make sure the remote access is turned off for all lines. If it is set to shared or dedicated, this could be your problem.
