We're in the process of installing a Merlin Mail (MLM007).

Is there a way to program the system via a terminal or using program like SPM? Keying in everything via a phoneset is extremely time consuming...

Merlin Mail is 100% Touch Tone Interface. The RS-232 interface is really only good for a few reports, rather than for administration. The newer Merlin Messaging units have a pretty slick GUI Interface administratable over an ethernet port.
