Well I got a new hard drive installed - reprogramed but cannot get it to go to the auto attendent. Have set the time open for 0100 to 2330 - have set it to one auto attendent. It just answers with the 100 (oporator)extension.with factory "Extension 100 is not available and lets you transfer using *T . I want the greeting the gateway greeting to answer.
 
How do you have calls getting to the messaging? if you are doing some sort of overflow you may need to build a mailbox and set it as an Auto attendant. or if you are using DID you may need a mailbox for that DID set to AA.

Thats probably the problem I am a novice and had this system working when the hard drive crashed - repleced the drive todays and reprograms all the extensions, menus, and sub-menus but don't know about the auto attendent piece. I can dial 770 from any phone and get to voice mail.
 
What type of lines do you have and do you know how they get to the VM. You may want to take a look at the calling groups and see if any of them overflow to 770. If you have POTS lines and they are in 771 and 771 overflows to 770 then yo may need a mailbox 771 that has a AA number 1 assigned to it. If you have DID you may need your mailbox that matches your main number.

Do not have DID I have 5 trunks in and 15 extensions. I know 770 is set up and I am not sure about any other I will try and set up 771 monday. any other suggestions would be great thanks for your reponses.

I will dig out some more info when I get back in tomorrow - I know I tried to do the calling groups(30)so I will copywhat I did and post it. I did have a problem with the members set they were allready listed but from here I don't remember what they were listed as. All of the other extensions were listed in the second step.
 
What i would do is print the calling groups and see if any overflow to 770. if they do and they have the lines assigned then that is most likely you issue.

I'm betting that the lines are not in a pool, thus the lines are covered by the voice mail box of the lowest numbered logical ID, the Operator.

If you want Immediate Answering of the Auto Attendant, assign the lines to Calling Group 770, and set the phones to delayed ring.

If you want delayed answering of the Auto Attendant, assign the lines to a different calling group, then overflow that group to 770, using Time Based Overflow set to about 6 seconds per ring, remembering to make a mailbox in the Merlin Mail, with an extension number matching the overflowing calling group, and a class of service of 15.

 
OK I am back at the office -
I have assigned extensions to calling group (rather they were already there) 132 and 133

Assigned 770 as Integrated VMI Group Type

This step I don't understand Assigned Line/Pools to be answered by auto attendant to voicemail extensions. I went to "System Programing - Exit - Extensions - More - Group Calling - Line/Pool - Dialed 770 - Press Line/pool keys to assign" It is this last step "Press Line/Pool Keys to assign" I don't understand.

Assigned mail box owners to Coverage group 30 (All the active extensions are entered)

Assigned Calling Group 770 as the Voicemail cover for Coverage group 30

No sure on this one I assigned cover delay rings (Rings before a call goes to the mail box) I did a couple of the extension they were all already set to 3.

One thing I have not been able to do over the years is to get this system to print. I work from a MLX 20L to do the programming.

Before I replaced the hard drive in the MLM 007 and before the old hard drive failed the system worked well. I have lost some setting that directs the auto attendent to answer right now the operator extension 100 is answering."Extension 100 is not available and lets you transfer using *T"
 
When you press Line/Pool, keyin 770 and press enter - then enter each line number and press enter (801 enter, 802 enter, etc.). If you are in Hybrid/PBX mode - key in 70 and press enter - then press Inspect to make sure your appropriate lines and/or Pool is ther. Press Home to exit

Thanks, I am one step closer I now have the pre-recorded gate greeting but but when you press one it takes you to the (pre-recorded merlin message) Not my automated attendent day message with the options.
 
Who setup the gate greeting?? That should be disabled. It was used in the "old days" - when some people still had rotary phones. Those are pretty much gone - so that option should NOT be activated.

Well not perfect but I have it up and running, will continue to refine thanks for all the help hope I don't have to bother you guys again but I am sure I will have more questions Thanks
 
where did you get the new hard drive? i need one for a 007 mlm but do not want to pay a fortune for it.

There are very few - if any - "new" hard drives for the 007 MLM. Most are "pulls" from old laptops. It is almost impossible to find a new 2.1 GB hard drive. They are 10 plus years old.

Depending on your BIOS version of your 007 MLM - there may be some other alternatives.
