Hi all,

I have a Merlin Magix and I need to connect it to two PBX, the first is a Cisco Call Manager and the second is an Avaya S8300...

MAGIX Release 2.0 v9.0
MODE: Hybrid PBX
Slot 1 408 GLM-U
Slot 2 016 TRR
Slot 3 800 DID

I already have the lines 1-4 of the 408 board as LS and within the pool 70, 1 MLX phone on port 01/01 and a couple of analog phone on 016 TRR, I can reach evrey phone dialing his extensions...

Here comes the tricky part...

In the Cisco I only have one VIC3-4FXS/DID, and trying to make the configuration as line/trunk using LS on both sides...

In the Avaya I have a CO Trunk TN747 and a DID TN753... and trying to do the same, line/trunk with the CO vs the 408 with LS...

I know that the magix 408 LS works vs an analog line on the avaya, configured in the avaya as an 2500 station... but I need to make work with the CO and DID because is the hardware I have...

Do you have any idea in how to make it work?

At the end, my end phones are connected to the Magix, and I need to receive and send calls through the avaya and cisco... and almost forget it.. the magix has the DID board and I need to use his functionality to continue receiving call from the avaya and cisco...

I'll appreciate your comments and ideas...

Thanks

Quite a kludge but you connect analog extensions to loop start trunks.

Dial an extension on either side and it should ring the trunk on the other side.
Collect trunks into pools and you can use pool dialing for outgoing calls.

Of course you may have to adjust timers to get the right disconnect.

Thanks CarGoSki

Actually we figure that, the only problem I have now is with the DID's

Once we connect it the port goes off hook...

We are testing now with changing the TR order on the cables...

Thanks

It's Like CarGoski said ...!!

Sounds to me like The Magix DID shouldn't be a part of that at all, unless something is providing or emulating a DID Trunk. You'll be better off NOT using the Definity's or the Magix DID trunk cards..., unless you have Analog DID trunks from a CO delivering actual DID numbers ..

The easiest is sending an analog station from one switch, to a LS port on the other.
Flexible and NO signaling issues dealing with Analog DID trunks

I'm not familiar with Cisco, but from the name of the card you have in it, it looks like can be a Foriegn Exchange or a DID trunk.

An FX trunk will simply receive the Ring current and ring whatever you have the trunk programmed to do. An analog station line from each switch can act as your FX trunks.

Analog DID's are a unique painInTheAss as they are looking for specific signaling (E&M etc), so that (typically) the CO can send the DNIS/Digits. This is likely why your getting the trunk going off-hook immediatly. What your connecting to it is not in the format of a DID trunk, or signaling is not set incorrectly.

LS CO trunk on the TN747/408 cards, and FX on the cisco....! Analog Station out to each.
If I missed something, I was just shootin from the Hip..!! [2thumbsup]
