I'm using the Merlin Magix messaging system. An employee left our company on bad terms and he had set up his own password for his voicemail. Is there any way to reset a voicemail password when you don't know the current one?
If the mailbox is a regular one, you can log into the system as the Administrator and follow the prompts to reset the mailbox.
If the Administrator's password has been lost, you will need to contact an Avaya Business Partner in your area. They will be able to log into the voicemail and reset that password.
In another thread mrj702 was able to change the Auto Attendant prompt, so he has the System Administrator's mailbox password.
Since your employee "set up his own password for his voicemail", you just need to log into the SA mailbox, 9 for programming, 2 for extensions, dial the extension number and #, then 3 to erase the current password. Then log into the former employee's mailbox using # as the password, set a new one, and you will be able to retrieve the messages.
