How many ports can a Merlin Magix grow to?

I think it is limited to 80 trunks by 200 stations, like the Legend.

How many ports does a DS1 card account for. Currently it looks like this so I figured 220:

Cabinet 1
PS Unit

Processor w/ CKE5

24 TDL

412 TLD LS ID

100 DS1

016 ETR

016 ETR

Cabinent No. 2

PS Unit

016 T/R

024 TDL

024 TDL

016 ETR

024 TDL

024 TDL

ttech is right...

A DS1 mod is 24 no matter how many you use.....

within the same building, can I network two Merlins together via adtrans and copper and would I have to add new stations from each Merlin seperately or could I do it from the master? Do they have to be the exact same version software? Do I really save on this idea rather than just buying a new phone system?

Networking two Merlins is a good option. Can do with DS1 in each Merlin and copper between. Extension numbers cannot overlap, best to use different series in each switch, i.e., 1xx in one, 2xx/3xx in second, etc., to make it easier to program Non-Local UDP. When you get it right, the two switches are transparent to users, seems like one larger system. You can use one spare pair in the connecting cable, plug into vacant S-L port on the "remote" switch, run to your PC modem for programming via WinSPM. I am not familiar with MerlinMail, but you can hang an Audix box off the master for a centralized voicemail system. The AutoAttendant will direct incoming traffic to any extension.

This is a viable option, BUT there are some things you cannot do across the network, such as voice announce, paging, direct voice mail to give a few.

But what I am understanding is, The Merlin Magix does have networking software and that I do not need a PRI or T1, and that I can simulate that connection by using a router PRI/T1 card on each Merlin?

Thanks

Yes, within range limitations. Be sure to flip the pairs on the cable between the two systems.
