I have a Merlin Magix with static occuring on all single line ports. I have two cabinets with a total of 6 analog cards. All cards have static in both cabinets. Any Ideas?
The static is on intercom dial tone on all single line ports (intermittent on some ports). This is with me going off hook with my buttset at ksu. Static seemed to start in the second cabinet, but now is slowing showing up system wide. I removed all physical station and trunk connections system wide, and still had the problem. I have also swapped power supplies, and removed and reseated all circuit cards. Hope this helps
Are the power supplies grounded?? I would try disconnecting ALL of the single-line phones and hooking them back up one-at-a-time (while checking for static) to see if the problem lies with a "bad" single-line phone. I assume you have also tried rebooting the system and resetting/restoring each of the single-line modules to see if that corrects the problem.
Both cabinets are grounded at the power supply. I have tried resetting all cards in maint., as well as physically removing and reseating them. The system has been in place and operating for approx. six years with now environment changes.
Then try disconnecting ALL single-line phones - and connect them back one-at-a-time (checking for static) with each additional connection. You may find a "bad"/shorted phone as the problem and/or line wiring and/or a "bad" port issue.
I unplugged all devices at ksu (analog c.o. lines, digital phones, and slt devices). With just my buttset plugged into one port I still have static as soon as I go off hook to get intercom dial tone. Do these cards possibly have a heat problem like old partner cards that causes static. At this point I am scratching my head.
