Customer has (1) 016 TRR module (currently all 16 ports used), also they have (1) 008 OPT (currently 6 open ports). They want to add 6 call boxes (analog devices that go off hook and dial 3 digit inetrcom). Can I use OPT ports or do I need to add another TRR? What is the difference between the 2 cards?
thanks,

OPT will drive a S/L station a lot further than a TRR, and provides loop disconnect to the S/L station. Should work fine for your application. You can read about all the differences in the maintenance manual.

Tommy is correct.

The call boxes I use require "ONLY" the 008-OPT.
They will not work using the 016 card.
