Why do I get the message "invalid 44xx dlc" on my 4412d+ phone display when I am plugged into a merlin Magix R2.2 V7.2 first port? Do i need a different phone to be the operator?

Yes.
Have to be a 4424ld+.

Actually it doesn't have to be a 4424LD. Just a 4424D+ set will do. You only need the LD if you want to program from the set.

One more thing, if you are planning to install a DSS onto the 4424D+ set then you will also need a power supply. But if you opt for the 4424LD set then it already comes with a power supply.
