Aloha, I am trying to set up 2 seperate Auto Attendants with different "open" hours for 2 seperate departments but we only have one console with the NIGHT button. All of their lines come in on the same PRI. Can anyone help?

What Voicemail system and version do you have in the system?

Have you reviewed the Feature Reference guide? If you don't have a copy, one can be downloaded for free from: support.avaya.com.

Since you mention calls are delivered via PRI service, then each department has a DID number assigned for that purpose? You will need that information for programming. Even though the departments have different business hours, are they fixed? Please provide more detail so any of us can respond to your request.

The system is Merlin Magix 3.0 with Merlin Messaging. Yes, the business hours are fixed hours but customer prefers to use Night button to turn it on/off when they need.

Currently, the Night service is working for the Admin department and is turned on/off by the Night button on their only operator-position phone.

I have a solution if your customer is willing to compromise. First, continue to use the NIGHT button for the Admin department. For the other group/company, use a Coverage button to enable or disable calls to that individual's mailbox (which plays THEIR Night Greeting). The other alternative is to simply forward the other group's terminating extension to an adjunct and have it covered by a mailbox with appropriate Night Greeting.

Can all this happen with a single Night Service button from a single Operator console? No. But my suggestion seems to fit the goal.

You're probably already very close to my workaround already. With DID being the prime inbound route for calls to the "main number", I suspect that the Night Service button isn't a Night Service button at all.

Thanks Tim! I thought the answer was NO but I just wanted to confirm. I will bring up your suggestions as well as some other ideas to the customer. I'm sure one of these work-arounds will work for them. Aloha and have a great day!
