Merlin Magix / Intuity Audix - "Waiting for system to initialize"

Our phone system is Merlin Magix with Intuity Audix.

Last week I tried to access AUDIX System Administration - logged in to the server, the Intuity Main Menu came up and I selected AUDIX S/A. Normally the interface appears and I can edit mailboxes, etc. This time it went to a black screen & said "Waiting for system to initialize..........." After ~4min another prompt appeared that said "Audix not up." and within a few seconds it brought me back to Intuity Main Menu. Note that vm WAS up & running!!!

I rebooted the server & was able to get into AUDIX S/A without a problem - but then vm was DOWN! I stopped & restarted JUST the AUDIX services - vm came back up but now if I try to access AUDIX S/A I'm back to the "Waiting for system to initialize......." prompt!

Any thoughts / suggestions...?!
 
Most likely you have a software corruption in the Admin GUI, I suspect this an R-5.x Intuity (CD Drive) correct?
You might try several soft shutdown and cold boots (power off), it might be able to fix itself if the problem is not too bad. If not you will probably have to reload the software and restore from the backup tape. I hope you have the CD's and the Boot Disks, or the tapes if, per chance, it is a R4.x
 
Yes, I'm sorry - I didn't list the version - it is R5.

Will try the soft shutdowns & cold boots off-hours - probably won't be until this weekend... will keep my fingers crossed that fixes it!

Otherwise, yes, I have all original CDs, disks, documentation, etc. as well as backups - I'm covered there.

If you have to rebuild the box it will take 2-3 hours.
You will load the OS from the CD, then you will load the Mode Code integeration by selection from the CD and then the language CD.
It is a complicated drawn out process, but the docs give a pretty clear picture of what to do. Good Luck!
