It's been a long time since I've done this. I believe I need to program one of the buttons to use as connect/disconnect for the handset. Is that correct? Can someone provide me with quick instructions?

The information you need is covered in the Magix Feature Reference document. It has all the detail to set up, program and operations, etc. It's free for the download from support.avaya.com.
