we just took over this system and have a extension that is not going to voicemail when not answered. I can get into programming but not sure where this Item is programmed at. Thanks in advance.
Try logging into the voicemail as the administrator, press 9, administer extensions, enter the extension number and see if the extension in question is provisioned as having a phone (I think that is the verbiage). What you don't want to hear is "transfer only". That would allow a caller to reach an extension, but, no other call handling.
If it doesn't cover to voicemail at all, check coverage group members, to be sure it is assigned. Extensions>More>Group Coverage>30>Enter>Inspect to see what is already assigned, Extensions>More>Group Coverage>30>Enter>Ext. No.>Enter to assign
If you go from the automated attendant directly to the mailbox, without ringing the phone frst, see Dexman's advice above.
If the phone rings, but the mailbox is not recognized when it covers to voicemail, confirm that the mailbox has been created.
