i just got asked by a client who wants me to find out why the first incoming line out of the 6 they have is the only one that rings at the console. the others go to voice mail without ringing at the front desk. thanks in advance for any help im going over today and checking the trunks but so far only line 1 rings the front desk then goes to aa if not picked up the others dont ring at the front desk but after a couple of seconds go straight to the aa.

I would see if the ringing for the other lines has been turned off. That is, press inspect, the each of the line buttons - and look at what it says on the display. The first one probably says Line 801 -I (for immediate ring). The others may say Line 802 -D (for delayed ring) or Line 802 -N (for no ring). If that is the case - and you want all lines to ring at reception - use extention programming, touch any line button, press list feature, scroll to ring options, choose all lines - enter - and choose immediate ring, enter. Now all lines will ring.

The other possibility is that only the first line is omitted from being attached to the voicemail calling group (usually 770) - and the others are assigned to the VM calling group - so you may need to check that.
