Hi folks,
I've inherited the administration of a Merlin Magix system at my church. This system serves both the church and the attached school, it is set up in Hybrid mode, and it has 4 incoming loop start lines, 2 for the school, 2 for the church office. The pastor wants to be able to forward his extension to his cell phone for after hours calls. During the day, all calls are answered by the secretary, but after 4 rings go to an auto attendant where there is an option to reach a particular extension, like the pastor's extension. This same auto attendant grabs all of the calls after-hours as well. I've allowed call forwarding on this extension, allowed trunk-to-trunk calling and set reliable disconnect on the lines. Since the lines are not in a pool, the forwarding input at the phone is #33+804+10 digit cell number. 804 is the assignment for the second line in the church office. Yes, this only works if the calls come in on the first line (which they usually do) and are then forwarded out on the second line, tying up both lines. The problem is that after the initial setup, the handset displays "Forward" on the display, so that the pastor knows that his calls are forwarded. However, after the first forwarded call happens, the display goes blank, and now he cannot tell if the phone is in forwarding mode (it is). Any ideas on why this happens and how to resolve it? Thanks!
