I have a customer who has a Magix connected to analog ports off a Nortel (Don't know which one but its real big). The get DIDs from the Nortel which they use as the main numbers that point to the nortel ports and come into loop lines on the Magix. The Magix is in key mode and they have the 5 lines on all the phones. Everything works fine except the disconnect. The Nortel is not sending far end disconnect to the Magix so the voicemail never drops the call if the caller hangs up. The owners of the Nortel admit this and say they will do nothing about it. Does anyone have suggestions as to what I can do?

Try setting LS Disconnect to "yes" under lines/trunk. Menu, system program, start/exit, TT/LS Disc,LS Disconnect, "yes" enter.

Hi ronromano,

Well in the case of the MERIDIAN PBX, you will NEVER get disconnect supervision on Loop-Start analogue stations!

I went round-and-round for years with Northern about this one thing and to this day as far as I can tell it has NOT changed!!!

So the only remedy to fix this using the analogue stations is to use something like the VIKING CPC DISCONNECT Module model CPC-1 list price $69.00ea per line. Viking also has a rack mount the RM-19, and it will hold 24 of the CPC-1s, when you have lots of them on an installation to keep things organized.

One other option for this type of situation would be to install a DS1 between the two switches and set it up as Tie Trunks per channel or PRI and get all the supervision you could want... Provided it can be cost justified or whatever criteria is needed.

Hope this helps!

The Viking sounds like it will solve the problem. Thanks SYQUEST star for you.
