I have a small Magix and have want to set up auto attendant. Where do I begin? How does the Attendant pick up? Is it on just one trunk?

How do you want Auto Attendent to be "involved"?

Do you want it to answer all calls?

Do you want it to answer only after the Operator does not answer after ___ Number of Rings?

I would like to start off with it answering all calls. Not sure where to begin.

I am using the Merlin Messaging software that ties to the VM card via the ethernet port.

The ususal process id to do some system programming first to set up for voice mail usage. 1st step is to set up a voice mail calling group (usually 770) with members being all of the available ports (based on your port license card). The group type is set to "integrated voice mail" and hunt type is set to "linear". Next, you assign all lines and/or pools to be answered by the AA to that group. Next, you "rotary enable" all the voice mail port extensions. Next, you set up a Cover Group (usually 30)with all the extensions numbers in it that voice mail is to cover. Next, you set up group coverage of Group 30 by 770. Now, if you place a call to the system the main autoattendant (AA1) will answer on the first ring and play the default menu. Then, finally the next step is to program your voice mail module - the autoattendant, and set up voice mail boxes for each extension you want
