Merlin Magix and DSL 1

I have purchased a used Merlin Magix phone system with a 412 TDL LS-1D board and a w/CKE5 processor board installed. I am having dsl hooked up to this location Monday, but I noticed when I plug the dsl filters into the phone line, I lose my dial tone and the message light flashes on the phone. Will DSL work with the Magix system and if so, do I even need the line filters.

The DSL filter goes on the incoming LINE, on the modular jack of the 412TDL card. Do NOT filter the phones.
