In two seperate "bed and breakfast" style hotels I have identical Magix systems. They each consist of one carrier plus an expansion carrier. The cards for both are installed in this order from left to right: (1)processor r7.0, (1) 100 DS1, (3) 016 TR, (1) 412 TDL, and Merlin Messaging. Everything is grounded and the station cabling is good.

The problem is that analog phones will loose dial tone or develope severe noise and be unable to break DT. This happens to 3 to 6 phones per week. It isn't always the same phones/ext's. No alarms are detected through WinSPM. The customers don't seem to be doing anything strange. To fix the phone I simply Busy Out/Restore them. Avaya says the DS1 and TDL cards aren't affecting the 016 cards.

If anybody has suggestions please take the time to respond.

Thanks

Chech the all TTR's in the system. One or more may be bad - but the system will still attempt to use them - hence the random errors on various extensions. I would also check the board number of each 016 T/R card (just above the edge connector). There is a manufacturer's defect associated with Model 617F34, board# If it is 700285737 - it has the defect. If it is 848369971 - it is OK.
