Merlin Magix-7000 series DID's 2

Dont know anything about Magix, however, our sister company had to order another block of DID's for growth. They end with 7xxx. The vendor at the last hour says the 7xxx wont work as it interferes with dialing 7 to go to voice mail? Never heard of such a problem. is this true or can you advise what the tech is talking about. Thanks

It can be done, however, there are multiple conflicts that would need to be renumbered on the Magix system in order to make it work. Yes, voicemail is 770 and would need to be changed. Hunt groups also start with "7" by default and would need to be changed. The main pool for dialing out is group 70 and would need to be changed. Bottom line, it can be accomplished, but there is some work involved renumbering the conflicts to another range.

Are these D-I-D's coming in over a PRI circuit?

If so, there may not be a conflict.

Which leads to the question, just what kind of facilities are these being delivered by?

I believe it is a PRI but I am finding out. Kind of assisting blind here. What are your thoughts? Received digits? The circuit has existing DID;s and these were additional so it appears that digits received is 4.

With PRI, you can CHANGE the output of the Received Digits.

That is, you can receive 7315, and tell the Magix to route it to 5315, or 2315 or 315.

That being said, it is now very important to know if you do indeed have a PRI, and if so, what DIGITS are you receiving presently, how are they being routed, and what is your dial plan.

All of this info can be found by printing some reports from your Magix.
