We have an issue with a t1 thats been installed for about 2 months - getting constant busies all over sudden - t1 was turned up and working fine until about a week ago - end user started to keep track and just reported it this morning of faile calls ( quick busies )

maint shows a " no external release " condition on the t1 channels , trying to find this error in the pocket reference guide and I can not find an event as such ( I call this my Merlin bible as it has served me well - its worn and torn but she is reliable )

going to place a ticket with carrier to see if they can pin point the issue - just never seen this one before

thanks for any input into this matter

cheers : )

The "no external release" is caused by the provider and is an indication they have the channel(s) busied out or some type of seizure on the trunk. Are all the channels showing this condition?

The maintenance error code is 8403 on page 115 of the Magix Pocket Reference release 3.0.

In the "old days" switch people would see this a lot on E/M trunks when they got stuck or broken.

99% of the time that I have seen T1 issues on an existing T1 that "all of a sudden" start having a problem, it's always been the LEC. I have never seen a Magix reprogram itself to not work properly.

We called a ticket into the clec and they report no troubles found - but amazing it stopped and has not happen since that phone call : )

no issues with " no external release " errors - they stressed tested the line and reported clear error free

cheers:)
