merlin magix 2.1 invalid 44XX DLC 1

thanks for the info on the pinouts guys now i have a new problem they just told me about and that ive got a phone that shows Invalid 44XX DLC its supposed to be ext 3204 but when i checked the pair by toning its going to the 5th pair on the punch down block on the firs 412 ls tdl card i just thought that maybe i should check that port. and see whats up. thanks agoin

The error means that have a non-operator type phone plugged into a designated operator port. The operator phones are a 4424LD+ or 4424D+ - any other phone (4412 or 4406, etc.) will show that error on the display.

If they don't need that port as an operator port - but just as a regular port - the operator designation has to be removed through system programming. When a system is fired up in default mode the first port, and every 4th port after the first port will be default programmed as a DLC (Direct Line Console) operator position. Most businesses only have one operator position on the first 412 TDL port - the remaining ones need to be removed - so the ports can be used for normal phones.
