Alright, here it goes.

Merlin MLX I need to program all the phones to ring on all the lines but,.,.dig this,.,.,I cant find the programming port,.,.not the admin,.,.the one for phone programming. It isn't the first port or the first port on any of the cards. All the extensions are all over the place none in order and I had to go on to my next call because I ran out of time so I just did feature ring all immediate on the phones that did have most of the lines on them. I need to go back and finish so I should just use WinSPM huh. I would however like to find the programming port. Just reassign it on my laptop? I should have had some rj45s to crimp but I was out,,.man what a dud of a day. At least I fixed a fire alarm with great success.

One of the first 4 ports on the first MLX or TDL card is the only place the programming phone can be placed. I've had company telecom managers give themselves a console phone on port 2, 3, or 4, leaving the company operator on port 1, so they could program from the phone in the comfort of their own office.

Just take the programming phone and try it on each of the first 4 ports on the first card and you should find it.

Tek-Tips has a forum where questions concerning legacy AT&T/Lucent/Avaya telephone systems are posted. Systems include Spirit, Partner and Merlin platforms.

Because questions posted outside their correct forums are subject to deletion, it is a safe practice to check the available forums to see if the system in question falls into any of them and use the General forum in situations where no such forum exists (Toshiba telephone systems as an example).

Sorry I m new and its not always clear how to get things don't but maybe the mod can just move the thread instead of deleting it,.,.


but big help I had always been under the impression it was the top port and it could be moved to any cards top port but thankx much it is the 4th one down first card. I could swear I tried them all but was running out of time,.,.I hate rush jobs

TTT knows more about the Partner and Merlin platform than I ever will.

I'm not familiar with the physical working of the site, but, topics aren't generally moved between forums. It may be a decision of the owners, or, something to do with the board itself. I don't know for sure.
