Hi, I have not touched the Merlin Legend V.7 I installed about 8 years ago until yesterday when I was asked to remove the lines no longer in service and reassign line selection choices for a small law office. I am most familiar with Mitel sx200d, but this is the only Merlin Legend I have had anything to do with and frankly I do not remember much at all. I don't have access to the original documentation nor the winspm program as it went with a computer crash several years ago and the disks are with the documentation filed in some storage unit that I can not access.

I removed the original 4 lines in pool group 70 originally used for making outbound calls and I added 3 of the 4 remaining rollover incoming lines for the main number to pool group 70, but realized that was an error since the buttons were blank and it was going to be a problem to answer and transfer callers. So I managed to reassign the lines to their original spots and programmed the auto line selection (which is what I really needed to do in the first place since the user was picking a non-working line). Now the 3 lines I moved and put back do not ring at the phones, instead it rings once on the phone and the caller is immediately put into voicemail without any chance in day mode to answer the call. (this is true for night mode in any case, but now for all calls).

I looked at the Group Calling features and 971 is not set up. I have found the manuals on line and and tried to find the specific problems but as of now have not been able to resolve the ring directly to voice mail issues. Any suggestions?

At this point I think the best thing for me to do is to restore the previous version of the database. I need a step by step set of instructions of how to do a restoration. Additionally, I have no idea which option to restore - there are 3 individual dates 1- 05/28, 2-10/24 and 3-05/24 and two autobak files - my email trail only goes back 5 years so I do not have any idea of which date these may be. I would like to possibly save what I have done, restore one of the original ones and just change the line selections so I don't have any trouble with the incoming calls for monday morning.

Would it restore to the previous saved version if the power is disconnected? Just a thought...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
BBS

IF you go to System, Backup and Restore, then press Inspect, you can look at the dates of the autobackup files. If auto backups were turned on, you should have one from last Sunday, and another from the Sunday before that. Back up, press Restore, pick the most recent backup file, and let it do its thing. Then step back and lets figure out what you really need to do.

Will do that on Sunday when I have access to the space next. Will keep you posted. Thanks! BBS

Let's get it restored and then we can provide help on making the changes you need after that.

I suggest using the NEWEST Auto Back file.

To determine what that is, do the following at the MAIN CONSOLE:

Menu > System Program > Exit > System > Back/Restore > Restore > Now touch INSPECT and scroll through the files on the FLASH CARD to find the newest AUTO BAK file.

Once you figure that out, press BACK and then choose the AUTO BAK file you wish to use.

This will load the latest translations that the system saved during the last BACK UP.

Hopefully, it is set to do this WEEKLY that would give you 2 files, one week apart, to choose from.

Hi, I was able to restore from the last backup which was the October date - how do you turn on the back ups to update weekly?

I now know how to do the auto line selection, so I am working on that now. What is the best method to remove the two pooled lines in group 890 and set them up as individual lines appearing on 2 buttons on 2 of the phones that now have available buttons which are currently programmed with old lines that are no longer working and can be removed?

Thanks,
BBS

About the autoback up - I did look around at the auto backup section and it shows weekly highlighted. Inspecting the weekely section I see Weekly MemCard Backup: it shows 00200 as what is set - I am assuming that is Sunday at 2 a.m., but it does not appear to be doing the backup automatically. Now that I finished the auto line selection I made a manual back up so that I can go back to this version back1.1121 if necessary in the future.

The problem was the autoback1 and autoback2 dates matched two of the manual backup dates, however, the programming has not been changed since that October date so many years ago - therefore I don't think the changes two weeks ago verse years ago matter too much. The fact the dates were the same is the reason I wondered why it is the system is not backing up weekly although it appears to be set up to do so.

I would have expected the autoback 1 & 2 dates to reflect 11/14 and 11/7 but they were actually 05/28 and 10/24 so since the two may dates were when we first installed it - I choose the October date instead.
