We have a Merlin Legend system where they just moved from analog POTs lines to a PRI. They use an answering service at night (Doctor's office). What they have been doing is dialing something like *72 to transfer their calls at night through Verizon. Now that we just moved them to a PRI I have to come up with some way for them tp transfer calls at night (trk to trk transfer) to an answering serivce.

I was thinking that we could put a button on the consoles which forwards calls to a 'virtual extension' which is forwarded to the service. Then when they hit the button in the morning it stops forwarding to the virtual extensio.

Can anyone tell me if this will work. Is there a better way of doing this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You can't forward a forward, but why not just forward the ringing console? Enable Trunk to Trunk transfer, and Remote Call Forward. Add a Forward button to the console, press it, dial 9, the telephone number, and #. Press it and dial the console's extension number to cancel.
