We have a Merlin Legend R6.1 and are considering utilizing voicemail via our local carrier (Frontier, née Verizon). Frontier has indicated that if we employ this feature through them then we can have a common voice mailbox for receiving messages when we are unable to answer the phone. Straightforward, so it seems.
Frontier also indicated that if we have messages then a stutter dial tone is generated to indicate that we, indeed, have messages. I presume this is an audible indication when the handset is lifted from the phone, e.g. you would two or three dial tone "pulsing" sounds and then a steady dial tone.
I am hoping something in the Merlin Legend configuration can be programmed so that the message indicator LED on the main operator's console can be lit, if a message is in the queue. Even more useful would be that same LED on one or more of the individual phone units would also illuminate if a message is in the queue.
I cannot easily find, in the voluminous Legend manuals, a guide to do what I hope can be done, as I described above.
Questions? Thoughts?
