merlin legend r3 extension monitoring

Are there any inherent ways to monitor (eavesdrop) calls. A receptionists station with attached dss can do it but you must hit mute. I find this a bit awkward if you really don't want the users to know who is being monitored. I've worked with other systems where a manager could dial a code and the extension to monitor. Are there any similar features with this system. I've found nothing close in the feature guide but I've been known to overlook the obvious.

The software version 6, I believe and up can do service observing from any MLX station. If you need a software upgrade, email me.
 
Downloaded the r6 docs - was unable to find any service observation features. Could it be called something else? Bossman may want to upgrade if this feature is definitely available.
 
Service observation is available on 6.1 and 7 software. I just checked. I set this feature up for a small call center.
