Hello, I am working on a Merlin Legend System R3 with voicemail.

The company is wanting to have the system go fully AA, both day and night as the receptionist is retiring. She presently answers the phones during the day only.

I have setup the new voicemail prompts and all that works fine. However, when trying to setup the AA for day use, I was assigining the outside numbers to pool 70 and all kinds of problems arose. The company did not tell me that another office was using 2 outside lines that was only for that office, and apparently was in its own pool. When I made the pool changes, their phones stopped working. The offices are seperate, but yet all go through the same Merlin system. I managed to get the system back to the original configuration due to backing it up with WINSPM.

There is no documentation on this system or its programming.

My question is this....

Is the a way to get a printout of the existing programming through the SMDR port or using WINSPM? So I can see what pools, lines, trunks, etc are assigned to what.

If not, should I consider upgrading to R7 which, according to many internet sites, will allow better functionallity with WINSPM?

Obviously, I am new to the Merlin Systems, but I am familiar with other systems programming.

Thanks for any help!!!

This is not as BAD as you think.

Before you try to do anything else, do a PRINT ALL with your PC/LAPTOP, using WINSPM.

Menu > Sys Prog > Exit > More > Print > ALL (Enter File Name)

That will take quite a while....

Once it is done, you will be able to tell a lot of things about the system.

If that does not lead you to a solution, POST AGAIN.

(The R3 should do all you are looking for as you have posted so far.)

How about just doing a RESTORE from the PC card, to get back to how everything was programmed before you started making changes??

I am assuming the printer is connected to the laptop and not the SMDR port?

I did do a restore and everything is back the way it was.

Thanks for the help

If you are using WinSPM or SPM you can "print" all but it will savi it to a text file.

To Merlinman,TouchToneTommy, and ttech. I got into the system today, downloaded (printed) the info to a file, then printed out the file back at the office. It sure is easier to see what is going on with the sytem when you have something on paper. Thanks for all the help, it is greatly appreciated!!!!
