System Merlin Legend Release 7.0 V14.2 CKE4 Hw vintage 02, three 391c Power supply,0 three D100, ten MLX-016, one 800, two 016TTR

We have recently change PRI providers from AT&T to Charter Business. The PRI service is being deliveried over fiber ethernet as SIP convert on a Adtran 908e that converts it to PRI. Its really been such a lovely experience over the last ten days. NOT
The carrier provider is delivering two of the PRI on one Adtran 908e they call it a media gateway and one PRI over another Adtran 908E and of course their standard switch protocol is NI2. The closest Switch type the 908e can deliver is a 5ESS so we give it a try. We were able to config most of the problems away on two of the circuits and we even had to change the D100 517M to D100 517E cards to stop the protocol errors. We now have turned up the 3rd circuit which is running on the 2nd 908e but thats when real trouble started. SLP and ES out the ears. My Clock Sync is Loop Primary on the 1st PRI on the Merlin Legend, Loop Secondary on 2nd PRI, 3rd PRI tertiary.
The 1st 908e circuit 0/3 is connected to the D100 in slot 5 and circuit 0/4 is connected to the D100 in slot 16 and the are working very well no errors at the System level and very few at the board level. The 3rd circuit is a different story lots of MIS lots more SLP and ES . The provider tech wants me to provide clocking to the 908e from the Legend to get the 2nd 908eto sync.
I have read and read the manuals but I can't figure out how to do it. Can somebody point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Dave

The provider wants YOU to provide clocking?
Funny.

The only way to provide clocking is to setup a merlin legend network where the T1 board can emulate the CO and provide clocking. It was only intended for an internal network - Merlin(CO) to Merlin(PBX) -and the result is a pseudo PRI without a routing table. So incoming calls would have to match the extension number.

Don't they have a Custom or 5E Custom setting?

Thats what I said "what" turns out the service provider is going have to give me a media gateway that has a unified clock with all three PRI circuits coming from the same box. The media gateway on premises emulates a 5ess custom switch type protocol. They are sending SIP trunks over fiber ethernet to the Adtran 908e media gateways (SIP Router)and the media gateway then emulates a ISDN PRI switch circuit.
At least they got me to a knowledgeable engineer who reconized what was happening. now they have to find money to fix the build out.
The two adtrans 908e are $3000 but the Cisco 9125 to fix the problem is about $8000
Thanks

I think the problem that made you have to change out the 517-M boards to E boards has to do with 016-TRR Boards to the LEFT of the 517-M Boards. But, that sounds like just one of your many issues.

I have had some good luck with using a SWITCH TYPE of DMS-100 when they can't do NI1.

As far as your clocking, it sounds as if you are getting things fixed by the provider, RIGHT?
