Quick question for all the Merlin Legend experts. Will the 8411D phones used with the Definity system work on Merlin Legend systems? I know the MLX-10 look alike, but I was telling someone selling a system they are not the same. Please advise. THX

Kevricjon,

MerlinMan is right, 8411, 84xx Definity Phones will not work on Merlin legend, nor Magix.
Only Merlin II with 008D card supported Definity Phones, they were aliased/programed as 7406D's. I've only seen this card once, and that was long time ago, Most service calls I did then were Comkey 416s, or Merlin 820s with bad powersupply!

Nope, They will not work.

Same plastic, different guts.

Too funny.

During the time I supported the Merlin II, there was ONLY 1 call as I remember about those Digital Sets (7406D), it went something like this:

Sales rep with some Admiral on the line; "How do we extend those 7406 sets out of the building with a Merlin II?"

Myself; "Hold On, I will ask Bell Labs"

Bell Labs; "You don't"

Myself; "Labs says you can't do that."

Admiral; "Then we won't be buying any of those."

I don't recall ever seeing them in service, it was almost as unpopular as ISDN-BRI.
