Merlin Legend Paging Help

I have inherited a Merlin Legend telephone system and I am looking for some programing help. Some of the phone extensions on the system are capable of using the loudspeaker paging system in the building and some are not. I think I need to change the extension to a paging coverage group but I don't know what the coverage group number is. Does anyone have any advice they can give me to accomplish this using (probably) the default settings on the system.

Thanks,

go into system programing
system
loudspeaker paging
inspect look to see what line , it will be something like 812 to do so system must be idle to see what line
exit, next you must decide either to add that line to the phone on and empty line button
or you can use your system access button dial #9812

looked again and saw that you mabe a newbie
look at main console
if MLX 20 D
touch menu
system program
start or exit
aux equip
ldspkr pg

When I get to the "Loudspeaker Page" screen my choices are as follows:

Enter Loudspeakr pg Line:

Backspace Delete
Exit Enter

I'm not sure what to do to see what line the loudspeaker line is on.

Thanks,

Touch the "inspect button" - to see what, if any, line# has been previously programmed for paging. If no line# (801, 802, 803, etc.) is shown - then you will need to enter the line# that you plan to plug the paging system into. Lines are numbered starting with 801. 801 would be the bottommost line port in your first module that contains line ports (such as a 408 module or 800 GS/LS module). The first 408 module would have line ports 801, 802, 803 and 804 - with 804 being the topmost port. So just count the line ports from bottom to top and then move over to the next module with line ports and do the same - until you get to the line port your paging system is plugged into. Enter that line number# in the menu mentioned above - if it is not already there.

your paging system may not be using the page port,
on one of the telephones that you can page on if a mlx didplay set hit inspect then the button you use to page on and tell us what it says or do the same thru central station programing

Since some phones are already programmed for loudspeaker paging, and if all the phones otherwise have the same access to lines/pools, the easiest fix is to do a line/trunk copy from one of the extensions with paging to the one(s) that do not.

I tried the copy line/trunk method from BobbR and that has worked fine for me. I made several users very happy by allowing them to now use the paging system.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

I will be sure to use this resource again.
