9911 works but 911 doesn't. Tried going to ARS>More>SpeclNumber> but there is no option to absorb a 9. Someone said you can use alt+p to drop or absorb a 9, but that does not work, what am I missing here???
Depending on the release, there is a setting for "Allow 11", which would take a call dialed as 9-11 and send it out over pool 70 as 911. If you don't have that available in your release, you might try an ARS table, with 11 as the dialed digits and 9 as the added digit.
I do not have the "allow 11" feature on this release. When you say "might try" would that imply the possibility that it may not work? Just curious because I had spoke to an expert on the system (much like yourself) and they told me this release doesn't allow you to dial 911, you have to dial 9911, and that was what I have relayed to the customer at this point.
That's why I said "try" - I don't have a system in front of me to test on.
The N11 table does not allow you to change the pool from 70. I have had customers with PRI circuits, where the B-channels are in pool 890 or 891. Creating an ARS table with 911 and the correct pool was the work around. So you "may" be able to create an ARS table with 11, the pool, and the extra 9 as the added digit.
