I have a Merlin Legend system that has lost programming, it has level 2.1 software. I've been able to move around pool codes, trunk codes, calling group codes, park codes. I probably didn't have to renumber all of that, but this issue is: The DID range is 8200-8230, the LEC is sending 4-digits across copper DID trunks. I have the numbers 8200-8209 working. However, the system won't allow me to assign the numbers 8210-8219, or 8220-8229 and 8230. I can't find any programming that is blocking the use of those numbers in the dial plan. If I print the dial plan, you can't see an 821 or 822 conflict, yet the system still won't allow those numbers. Any help would be appreciated....

You can't manipulate the DID digits that arrive on analog trunks...only on PRI can you do this. So as you pointed out, you must assign 8210-8230 as stations or adjuncts.

As you've suggested, I'm thinking that you have a conflict with trunk numbering. But that's a question that can be answered pretty quickly by dialing in. I'd give you some "Monitor mode" commands, but I don't think it's necessary at this point.

Print a DIAL PLAN ALL and the conflict should become obvious. Call me if not.

Dear Dagwoodsystems: I just wanted you to know, you were right. However when printing the dialing plan / all. It only shows the trunks that you actually have hardware for, it won't show the numbers that are intended for trunking if the hardware isn't there, even though the system earmarks more numbers for trunking than you have hardware for.

You know what? You're right. I'm now thinking that I could have offered a better suggestion by directing you to the spot in the manual that talks about the dial plan setup space in general. That or instead have you go to Maintenance > Ports > Trunks > (enter trunk number) > Status to see if there was something occupying that number space.

Thanks for posting back! You may never be made aware of it, but somebody, somewhere, will benefit from your experience.
