Merlin Legend 7.0 Coverage Groups and Calling Group

My understanding from reading all the sections in the Merlin Legend manuals is that multiple Coverage Groups can be assigned to one Calling Group. I have 9 Coverage Groups working perfectly. I want to assign them all to a single Calling Group (ext 770 which is not used anywhere) and then assign the Group to another MLX set.

When I try to assign Coverage Groups to a Calling Group, I get the error beep as I try to add each one starting at 01 to 08; then it lets me add 09. I later do an Inspect, and it only shows 09 group. Obviously, I'm missing something here on how this works.

My setup is one phone has the max 8 buttons assigned to Coverage Groups 01 thru 09 and it works (no other phone has any groups). I'd like to have one phone with the Calling Group button for Coverage Groups 01 thru 09. I'm running in key system mode, no pooled lines, no night service, no VM and no other use of call coverage. This clip is what I read in the feature manual "Calling group. A calling group can be assigned via system programming as a receiver for 1-30 coverage groups." that I'm basing my programming on.

Create the Coverage Group:
Extensions More Grp Calling®
Grp Coverage Dial calling group ext. no. (I keyed 770)
Enter Dial coverage group no. Enter ( started with 01, enter then error thru 08, 09 was accepted)
Exit®Exit®Exit

Help appreciated!

It sounds as if groups 1 thru 8 are assigned somewhere else. -OR- being in Key Mode may be the issue.

The easiest way to find out if they are assigned would be to do a PRINT ALL with SPM and then you could do a search (with an editor or Word or...)

I'm not that sure if Key Mode would really cause the conflict, but I recommend looking for the 1st 8 being assigned somewhere. If that's not the issue, I can give more info.
