I have an older Merlin Legend (V7)with (30) 10-button BIS type sets and want to swap out the 008 cards with MLX-408 so I can use MLX sets. How involved is this project?

Mike

The MLX cards actually have twice the number of stations, considering the adjunct extensions. If you simply add them to the end of your cards, you won't have any problems. If you want to change an 008 ATL with a 408 MLX, the station programming will shift. The programming for the 2nd ATL set will move onto the 1st adjunct. The 3rd ATL will move onto the 2nd MLX, and so on all down the line for the rest of the system. It would probably be easier to simply default the system and reprogram if it involves a lot of stations.

Thanks for the information Tommy.

What is the reason the MLX cards have "adjunct Extensions"? I've seen them on other Legends and Magix, but am unclear what their for?

MLX ports have them because that's where the programming goes for an MFM that can connect an analog device to the phone, and then be able to use them at the same time. Without an MFM, the programming space is still there for "phontom" mailboxes, and other tricks.
