Hi, We use a Merlin box with voice mail and auto attend capabilities.
How can I activate / deactivate the Auto attendance manually via a phone (we don't have a dedicated PC or SW to configure via Terminal)

Is there a "quick guide" (menu tree) for download somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

It's actually the phone system that sends the calls to the voice mail system to be answered by the auto attendant - so that's where you would need to control the activation/deactivation of answering.

How the calls are sent depends on the type of lines you have from the phone company (loop start lines vs. a T1/PRI), and how the original programmer set it up

I will add that you can activate temporary greetings or even force a schedule change from the voicemail side provided that the PBX has been instructed to follow the VM's schedule.

Again, whether this is readily doable or not depends on the items that Tom mentioned.
