What is the max number of lines and sets fo rhte Magix and Legend?

80 lines, 200 sets - but requires using 16-port extension cards to get to the 200 sets.

Legend and Magix are very similar in capabilities. Legend phones are cheaper than Magix - but the Magix phones - to some - are more modern looking (Euro style). Magix phones have a built-in headphone jack - Legend do not. Legend phones can accept a multi-function module that adds a single-line phone/modem/fax to a Legend phone without additional wiring. Magix phones do not have that capability. Magix is the newer system and has better voicemail integration and capacities. The newer Legend processor can run the latest Magix software and utilize most Magix system modules - including Magix voicemail. Costs really the biggest factor differentiating the two systems. Legend, being the older system is much cheaper.

I think I want the newer Euro style sets. Are the displays backlit?

We do need aultiple Auto Attendants and remote access.

What one would you suggest.

The displays are not backlit on either the Magix or MLX sets. Either system will give you remote access. Even the older Legend Merlin Mail systems' have at least 3 auto attendants - the newer Magix voicemails gave 4. If you want the newer Euro style Magix phones - then I would just go with a Magix system all the way.
