We have a T1 that is used for all incoming on our main phone number and all non-local outgoing. We also have 9 POTS lines for local outgoing. We have 2 800 ICLID boards that appear to have 2 PFT jacks each. In this scenario can the PFT jacks be used if there is a power failure and how? Would they ring for our main number?

TIA for any help.

Your 2 800 Modules provide 2 Power Failure Ports each.

What ever you have in Line Port 801, for instance, will ring to a Regular T&R Phone plugged into the BOTTOM Power Failure Port on that module, once the system has no power.

Of course, you can test this by POWERING OFF the system at a convient time, and plugging in a Regular Phone.

As you've described above, I do not believe your 'main' number would ring on the power fail jacks. You've said that the T1 carries all 'incoming' calls, right?

Your T1 provider may be able to provide 'direct termination overflow' if the T1 goes down, and route the calls to one of the power fail numbers.
