Merlin 820D2 - phone no lights 1

We have a remote office with a old Merlin 820D2 system and a odd issue. We recently had a vendor replace wiring to a desk that hasn't been used in a while and didn't have a phone in a while. We put a new phone at the desk and it works but has no lights at all. I can move that phone to another desk and it has lights, just not that desk. Any ideas? Phone is a BIS-22D but It doesn't appear to be the issue.

It sounds like the power pair is open or has reversed polarity going to the jack that doesn't work. Power (48V DC) is on the white/green pair, pins 3 & 6 on the modular end.

The clear plastic mats that lay on the carpet that the chair rolls on are equipped with shark teeth and destroy tel & Ethernet cables. That's where you'll find your problem. Just replace that (those) cord(s)
