I have a expansion trunk module m12xo 3 bay with a blinking red light with a clicking sound, I have tried to reset the fiber connection as well as power cycle the module, I am assuming this module will need to be replace. What would be the procedure to replacing the unit other than powering down the ksu while I do this as well as the copper and fiber connection? Any help would be most appreciated, the module is a release 3a

Have you tried powering up without any cards installed? You may have a bad trunk card.

Changing the module: Nothing special to do. Make sure you plug the fiber in the same port on the expansion card or the line numbering will change.

ya but would a bad truck card in slot 1 of the trunk expansion cause a blinking red light?

The blinking light and clicking sign is usually the power supply inside the module is gone....replace 12X0 and test.

Yes a bad trunk card can overload the PS of the module, but most likely it is module itself.
